Senior Base Pilot Training
To assist organisational processes, such as employee inductions and job approvals, certain ReOC holders have introduced Senior Base Pilots (SBPs). SBPs are delegated specified duties by the Chief Remote Pilot, and these duties must ensure a high level of compliance and risk mitigation. SBPs may only be selected by the Chief Remote Pilot to induct and/or approve pilot jobs for a delegated base if they have completed and passed the Senior Base Pilot Training Syllabus. Remote Aviation Australia’s SBP program provides the course participant with the skills and knowledge to complete SBP duties and would be completed prior to an assessment completed by their organisation’s Chief Remote Pilot.
This short online course will provide SBP candidates with a chance to revise topics covered during their initial RePL and company training. The following video tutorials must be viewed prior to the commencement of your SBP training:
- Aviation Terminology
- Aviation Legislation
- Operations Near Aerodromes
- Visual Terminal Charts
- NOTAMs
- Intro to NAIPS
- Weather Forecasts
The above video lessons will take approximately 2 hours to complete. In addition, you will be provided with a hard copy training workbook prior to your course. The training workbook contains short answer questions and can be completed based on your previous RePL training knowledge and the information provided in the above videos. If you are unsure about a question, we will revise the questions during the face-to-face training.
In addition, if you do not use AVCRM regularly, we strongly recommend you complete the below video tutorials available through AVCRM. After logging in to AVCRM, the tutorials can be accessed using the following steps:
